Psychotherapy and Counselling in Brixton

If you are in a crisis or experiencing more long term difficulties then having a regular time and place to talk to psychotherapist in a confidential setting may help.

Counselling is sometimes thought of as addressing a particular issue. Psychotherapy can be described as a longer term exploration of your life. In practice they overlap .

I have been working as a psychotherapist for 16 years, seeing individuals and couples. People come on an open-ended basis or for a shorter agreed period of time. Here are some of the issues I have experience in helping with:

depression
addictions
realtionship problems
loss and bereavement
anxiety and stress
difficulties around sex, gender or sexual identity
panic attacks
physical illness and ageing
loss of desire and meaning

Often these issues are interconnected and speaking about them starts to untangle some of the confusion and difficulty.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy or relationship counselling (straight and gay) provides a safe space to relate openly about what is going on between you. Things may have got stuck, routinised or there may be anger and constant misunderstanding, threatening the intimacy and love that brought the couple together. Sex may be a problem. What might be difficult for the couple to express or admit to can be spoken about more easily and honestly in the presence of the psychotherapist.

Fees

Initial session £65. Ongoing individual therapy £55 upwards depending on income. Some lower cost places may be available during the day.
Couples therapy £90 neg.
